There is no sugar coating it….Marist is a very bad team. Sam Prescott, last season’s leading scorer, transferred out of Marist….along with two other players. Marist finished dead last in the MAAC which includes such teams as Rider, Iona, St. Peters and Niagara.
The Red Foxes are a small guard oriented team that will be totally dominated by the bigger far more talented Cats. This game will be about as much of a mismatch as anyone could schedule.
For UK, coach Cal will be looking for the Cats to play good defense and execute their offense in a positive manner. This game will obviously allow Cal to play his bench and evaluate different combinations. After Marist, the Cats will find a tough and a very worthy opponent in 4 days against a top 20 team in Kansas.
UK will defeat Marist by at least 40 points depending on how deep Cal goes in playing his bench. GO CATS!
