Continuing our regular series, A Date in Cornell Basketball History, above, an advertisement for "Junior Weekend" and an excerpt from a game preview appearing in the Cornell Bulletin from February 1946 (the wartime newspaper of Cornell University in place of the temporarily suspended Cornell Daily Sun). The Bulletin advertises a pep rally for Cornell's home contest against Penn on February 2. The Big Red prevailed 70-58 and finished the 1945-1946 season 6-2 in the EIBL (the Ivy League predecessor) and 12-5 overall. The Junior Weekend also featured "freshman cap burnings" and a "Stairway to the Stars" semiformal dance.
