News and Notes: Thursday Edition

Civil War approaches! Cornell's Red-White Game is this Saturday. Below, some news and notes for Thursday...
  • A reminder, Cornell's Red-White Game, the annual open-to-the-public intersquad scrimmage is scheduled for October 22 at Newman Arena. The scrimmage tips off at approximately 4 pm following the home football game against Brown. The Red-White Game also coincides with the basketball program's Alumni Weekend where former players are invited to return back to Cornell. There is no expected online broadcast for the Red-White Game. The first 100 fans in attendance will receive a free Cornell Basketball t-shirt.
  • In alumni news, Jason Hartford (Cornell '08) was cut yesterday by his club, Cader Rocha, (LUB Uruguay premier league). Hartford, a 6'9" forward, was the team's second leading scorer (12.8 ppg) and rebounder (6.4 rpg). Cader started the season 0-6. Hartford previously played professionally in Portugal (Ginasio, LCB Portugal premier league), Finland (Huima, Korisliiga Finland premier league) and Mozambique (Maxaquene, D1 Mozambique premier league). Also in alumni news, Adam Wire (Cornell '11) scored 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, while Aaron Osgood (Cornell '11) chipped in 8 points and 7 rebounds helping their club, Vaerlose of Denmark improve to 2-4 on the season and defeat league rival, SISU, 87-83 on October 19. Meanwhile also last night, Louis Dale (Cornell '11) netted 6 points and collected 6 rebounds in Germany, but his Goettingen club fell to 1-3 on the season with a 77-63 loss to Bremerhaven.
