Below, some news and notes for Tuesday...- ESPN's Andy Katz profiles Harvard and quoted Keith Wright as saying, "The targets are on our back. Princeton was expected to win it last year and Cornell the year before. Now everyone will want to beat Harvard.'' Katz also noted, "Former Ivy League coaches Fran Dunphy, formerly of Penn and now at Temple, and Boston College's Steve Donahue, a three-time Ivy winner at Cornell, said they aren't surprised by Harvard's ascension." - ESPN's Paul Biancardi writes on the topic of recruiting for the class of 2012, "Cornell, Yale, Princeton, Brown and Dartmouth... have some solid prospects on board for next year but are fighting to keep up with the Crimson and Quakers." Note: Biancardi is unaware that Cornell added Braxston Bunce (Kelowna Secondary School) Kelowna, BC, Canada, 6-11, to its recruiting class last week. ESPN only lists Holt Harmon (Plano West HS), Plano, TX, 6-9, F and Nolan Cressler (Plum HS) Plum, PA, 6-4, G (class of 2012) in the Big Red's class of 2012.
- Penn coach, Jerom Allen told the Blue Ribbon Yearbook in its preview of Penn, "Although we lost all three [overtime] competitions [against Harvard, Princeton and Cornell], I feel like it just showed signs of being resilient and finding a way to give yourself an opportunity to win."
